UPDATE

I'd like to start this post by first and foremost saying sorry to everyone for not posting in a REALLY long time.

Lately, I've had lots of changes in my life and it's been a crazy couple of months. I've started college, met tons of new people, and moved across the country (which let me tell-moving all my things was the realest struggle ever lol!!!)

(YAY FOR GOING TO SCHOOL IN NY!!!)

I hope that you can all accept this apology that I'm extending

As to my blog, I definitely want to keep reviewing books. However, I probably won't be participating in any book tours because my schedule is much more hectic and I realized that it isn't the direction I want my blog to take. I came to this realization after I did a lot of blog tours (all willingly of course because I'm one of those people that signs ups for everything and then tries to figure out how to do it all hahaha) and didn't have as much time for actually talking about the books I had read.

Therefore, to go back to my original idea of expressing my reactions and ideas about the books I have read I am switching to reviewing books only and not participating in book tours. Thank you all for understanding and I hope you enjoy the new version of my blog!!! I also want to thank all those who have stuck with me through my hiatus- I heart you all!!!

That's it for now but know that I'll definitely be posting soon!!!

(And just because I couldn't find a gif that made sense with him in it I'll just add it here hehehe!)

Where You Are (Giveaway Included!!!)

Book Description Provided by Goodreads: Got boy problems? Call Laney Scott. She's good for advice, a shoulder, or a swift kick where you need it. When her roommate Bethany gets her heart broken, yet again, it's Laney to the rescue. But Laney's harboring a secret. She's nursing her own broken heart. She and her friends come up with a plan to break Aiden and set it into play. Laney wants Aiden to pay for what he's done to Bethany. She will make him fall in love with her, so can break his heart.

Laney's ex-boyfriend Lachlan Hems is back in Florida, still Australian and sexy as hell. His best mate Lucas is getting married, and he is in town for the show. He just didn’t realize Laney would be there … in another guy’s arms, or that seeing her again would have such an effect on him. After the incident in high-school, he vowed to never care for her again. But sometimes fate has different plans.

When Laney’s resolve crumbles, Lachlan is the only one that can put her back together again.

Where You Are is the start of a three-books new adult series from Amazon and Barnes and Noble bestselling author Alla Kar.

Lachlan Hems Interview:

Q)  What is your favorite thing about Laney Anderson?

A)  *Grins.* There are so many things I love about that girl, mate. But, if I had to choose, I would say that smart mouth of hers. She draws me in just to kick me out and I love every minute of it.

Q)  What is your most favorite memory with Laney?

A)  The first night I held her in my arms all night. We’d snuck out and laid in the back of my truck until the sun came up the next morning. Waking up to Laney was and is the best way to wake up—ever.

Q)  What’s one secret you’ve never told anyone?

A) *Sighs.* You’re laying it on thick, aren’t you? After I moved back to Australia I had dreams about Laney for an entire year. I’d wake up in a cold sweat or crying. My parents didn’t know what to do with me.

Q)  If you could live anywhere on Earth where would it be?

A)  As long as Laney’s there it doesn’t matter.

Q)  What’s you’re biggest fear?

A)  Losing Laney again. Going through it once was enough to break me. I don’t think I could stand for it to happen again.

Goodbye to You (Giveaway Included!!!)

Book Description Provided by Goodreads: A tragic diagnosis. A determination to survive. A drastic decision. The man who changes everything.

This summer, I'm playing nursemaid to my sister. Yeah, I know. Relatively good looking twenty-two-year-olds don't spend the summer bedside in the cancer ward but, that's the plan. Until my sister threatens me with bodily harm unless I get on a plane and take a trip like normal girls my age.

And even though I hate leaving her, I know she's right. At least I'll have stories to tell when I return. In the back of my mind, all I can think is, "Go and live your life, while you still can." So I go and promise to have a good time.

That's when I met him. He likes me. Really likes me. But more than that, he loves my boobs -- like can't get enough. I have no idea how to tell him that they'll be gone soon, courtesy of a preventative double mastectomy. Yep. That's what testing positive for the breast cancer gene mutation will do to a girl.

But don't feel sorry for me. I'm enjoying him, holding on until the last possible minute, while I muster up the strength to tell him, and watch him walk away.

GOODBYE TO YOU is for older fans of John Green's THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. It's heart wrenching, funny, and real.

About the Author:
I wrote my first book at six. A retelling of The Three Little Pigs, illustrated by my grandmother, the book was never picked up and was self-published instead, glued to cardboard with a cover fashioned from wallpaper scraps. Today, I write stories featuring nice guys (or nice guys in-the-making) in between my other jobs writing research reports for a commercial real estate company, refereeing two young daughters, navigating the teen waters with a too-cute-for-his-own-good son, spoiling a neurotic cat, and making my darling, patient husband shake his head. I'm also an autism mom, chocolate enthusiast, sports-watcher, nacho-eater, and beer-drinker. A Maryland native, I live in North Carolina now, but dreams of the beach fuel my fantasies, and my characters can often be found strolling in the sand or sailing along a coast.

But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all. Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal. They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind. War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing. EXCERPT: Katy I still stared at Daemon, completely aware that everyone else except him was watching me. Closely. But why wouldn’t he look at me? A razor-sharp panic clawed at my insides. No. Thiscouldn’t be happening. No way.My body was moving before I even knew what I was doing. From the corner of my eye, I saw Dee shake her head and one of the Luxen males step forward, but I was propelled by an inherent need to prove that my worst fears were not coming true. After all, he’d healed me, but then I thought of what Dee had said, of how Dee had behaved with me. What if Daemon was like her? Turned into something so foreign and cold? He would’ve healed me just to make sure he was okay. I still didn’t stop.
Please, I thought over and over again. Please. Please. Please. On shaky legs, I crossed the long room, and even thoughDaemon hadn’t seemed to even acknowledge my existence, I walked right up to him, my hands trembling as I placed them on his chest. “Daemon?” I whispered, voice thick. His head whipped around, and he was suddenly staring down at me. Our gazes collided once more, and for a second I saw something so raw, so painful in those beautiful eyes. And then his large hands wrapped around my upper arms. The contact seared through the shirt I wore, branding my skin, and I thought—I expected—that he would pull me against him, that he would embrace me, and even though nothing would be all right, it would be better. Daemon’s hands spasmed around my arms, and I sucked in an unsteady breath. His eyes flashed an intense green as he physically lifted me away from him, setting me back down a good foot back. I stared at him, something deep in my chest cracking. “Daemon?” He said nothing as he let go, one finger at a time, it seemed, and his hands slid off my arms. He stepped back, returning his attention to the man behind the desk. “So . . . awkward,” murmured the redhead, smirking. I was rooted to the spot in which I stood, the sting of rejection burning through my skin, shredding my insides like I was nothing more than papier-mâché. “I think someone was expecting more of a reunion,” the Luxen male behind the desk said, his voice ringing with amusement. “What do you think, Daemon?” One shoulder rose in a negligent shrug. “I don’t think anything.” My mouth opened, but there were no words. His voice, his tone, wasn’t like his sister’s, but like it had been when we first met. He used to speak to me with barely leashed annoyance, where a thin veil of tolerance dripped from every word. The rift in my chest deepened.
For the hundredth time since the Luxen arrived, SergeantDasher’s warning came back to me. What side would Daemon and his family stand on? A shudder worked its way down my spine. I wrapped my arms around myself, unable to truly process what had just happened. “And you?” the man asked. When no one answered, he tried again. “Katy?” I was forced to look at him, and I wanted to shrink back from his stare. “What?” I was beyond caring that my voice broke on that one word. The man smiled as he walked around the desk. My gaze flickered over to Daemon as he shifted, drawing the attention of the beautiful redhead. “Were you expecting a more personal greeting?” he asked. “Perhaps something more intimate?” I had no idea how to answer. I felt like I’d fallen into the rabbit hole, and warnings were firing off left and right. Something primal inside me recognized that I was surrounded by predators. Review: Lost in Starlight

Book Description Provided by Goodreads: High school is tough. Romance with a sexy alien—even tougher.

Star reporter Sloane Masterson knows she has one helluva story when she witnesses hottie Hayden Lancaster bending forks with his mind.

Like any good journalist, Sloane sets out to uncover the truth, even if it includes a little stalking. When the superhuman feats start to pile up and the undeniable heat rises between them, Hayden has no choice but to reveal his secret: he’s an alien hybrid.

They’re as different as night and day—she’s a curvy, purple-haired, horror junkie and he’s a smoking hot, antisocial, brainiac—yet the intense fascination between them refuses to go away. Even at Hayden’s insistence that dating each other is “off limits” and dangerous, their fiery attraction threatens to go supernova.

Now Sloane’s dealing with creepy government agents, über snobby extraterrestrials, and a psycho alien ex-girlfriend out for revenge. After a crash course on the rules of interstellar dating, Sloane must decide if their star-crossed romance is worth risking her own life....

(GORGEOUS HAYDEN!!!)

Story Line: This story line pulled me in from the beginning with its high pace. Already in the first chapter Sloane suspects there is something different about Hayden and starts investigating what it might be. From there the story gets better and better when Hayden's alien secret is revealed and he and Sloane have to navigate their feelings for each other. One thing I do have to say is that in the first couple of chapters there was too much scene description and characters thoughts as apposed to dialogue. However, after those chapters ended the story picked up again. Also, while reading this book, I was reminded of another similar book, Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout because both have to do with hot alien guys and how they fall for strong and independent human girls.

Relationship: Sloane and Hayden's relationship starts off rocky but that soon changes ;) Sloane is attracted to Hayden because he's gorgeous (lol!) but she's also really curious to find out all of his secrets. Hayden on the other hand doesn't outwardly show that he's attracted to Sloane and acts as if he's irritated with her, which may have to do with the fact that she wants to unearth all his deep dark secrets hahaha!! However, when they both finally admit their feelings to and for each other, they make an awesome secret not so secret couple. Also, I felt that they, as is mentioned in the book, are like an alien version of Romeo and Juliet because of the whole forbidden love thing. While this is used a lot in books, I found that their relationship was still fresh and worth reading!

Characters:

Sloane: From the book description, I knew that Sloane's character was going to be unique! I loved that she wasn't afraid to be herself, even though it means that she doesn't fit in with societies version of "normal". In this aspect, her character reminded me of Raven from Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber. I also thought it was really cool that she had a love for horror movies and that throughout the book there are posts from her blog about her takes on cheesy clichés used in horror films; these posts added an extra spark of personality to her overall character. I also loved the fact that her character is so strong, independent, and determined. She doesn't give up on what she wants, be it information or having a relationship with Hayden. She was definitely a kick ass heroine and I loved reading the story in her POV!!

Hayden: I automatically fell in love with the moody "bad" boy!!! There is definitely a lot more to Hayden than what he usually shows to people and I love that he mostly only shows that side to Sloane. Although he tries to portray himself as a "bad" boy, he is a romantic at heart. With all the sweet moments between him and Sloane, I nearly died of fangirling lol!! I also love that he is protective of those he cares about and even some strangers (animals included) and that he is very much loyal! Hayden isn't afraid of standing up to bullies to protect someone or get in the way of a moving vehicle to save another person or animal!! ;) He's simply awesome and will make you melt: "I am lost in you, with no desire to ever escape." (My exact feelings toward Hyaden hahaha!!!)

Overall: I really enjoyed reading this book!! It was fun and quick to read and the characters made me smile a lot (especially Hayden)!!! The high paced story line along with the budding romance and quirky characters will have you zooming through this book in no time!

Rating: I would give this book a 9.5 out of 10!
