Excerpt:
I told him everything, showed him the scarred, broken part of me, and he didn’t run or push me away. Instead, he held me and cried with me until I was sure I would break with the pain of it. And after all of that, he still wants me.
I can feel it in the way he kisses me so desperately, as if he can’t get enough. He trails his fingers across my face and holds me tightly to him until I’m sure I won’t be able to breathe. Daltrey wants me. He loves me.
“I don’t want to waste any more time,” he says, pulling back so he can look into my eyes. “I want this with you. Forever.”

Excerpt:
The day she called, she was excited about a man she’d met who she thought would be perfect for me.

“It’s like he stepped out of one of those books you love so much,” she chattered over the phone. “Surely you won’t find fault with him as well. Just wait until you meet him.” She continued to prattle on and I tuned her out.

I couldn’t help but groan. One thing I loathed was blind dates because they were just so painfully awkward. There was the overwhelming need to fill every moment with something so we wouldn’t spend the entire date in unbearable silence. Trying to think of a way to break it to the guy gently when it was obvious to me, it just wouldn’t work.

I was already beginning to think of how I could wheedle my way out of this meeting when the doorbell rang.

“Tell me you didn’t, Mother,” I interrupted. I had no doubt she knew what I was talking about. The woman had the ears of a hawk and would undoubtedly have heard the chimes.

“Just do this for me. I want grand babies, Darcy. Wear something pretty with your hair up. Men like that.” I swear she was oblivious to how uncomfortable these meetings made me.

“Can you at least tell me what his name is?” I asked before I went to my doom.

“His name is Mason. Mason O’Connor. Be nice to him or so help me I’ll ….” I cut her off mid rant as I quickly said goodbye and hung up. I’d heard her threats so many times I could rehearse them verbatim in my sleep.
The door chime rang again.

“Let’s go see who the lucky contestant is,” I grumbled under my breath. I swung the door open and was floored by the battering of emotions that hit me with such a force I staggered. I would’ve fallen if Mason hadn’t reached out and grabbed hold of my arm.

“Already falling for me?” He chuckled, his eyes never leaving my face, his stare devouring.

Any other time I would’ve felt uncomfortable being under such intense scrutiny, but the look of hunger and triumph made my skin tingle and my breath hitched.

It was him. Don’t ask me how or why, I wasn’t a big believer in Fate, but standing before me, in all his glory was the guy from my dream. My wolf howled as she also recognized what it meant. Ours, she bayed over and over, stirring my insides into a frenzy.

Review: Strike Out

Book Description Provided by Goodreads: When professional baseball player, Zach Foster, agreed to go into business with five of his best friends, he didn’t expect their little sports bar to evolve into a national chain, spanning fifty states, but it did. The business helps to fill the void in Zach’s life during the off-season, but when he closes his eyes at night, he still can’t forget the girl who left that gaping hole in his heart when she left him standing at the altar.
Lauren ‘Rennie’ Alexander would do anything to fulfill a sick child’s wish. Not only is it her job, as director of the Sky’s the Limit Foundation, but it’s her passion. So when her assistant brings her a letter scribbled in crayon, complete with an application from the little boy’s loving parents, Rennie is ready to make another dream come true. Until she realizes that sick little boy’s dream is her worst nightmare. He wants to meet his hero, baseball player, Zach Foster. The same lying jerk who broke Rennie’s heart. It’s seems she has no choice but to take one for the team.

Story Line: I loved this story line! It automatically grabbed my attention from the beginning with the accidental phone call from Zach to Rennie. From then on the story got even better! As Rennie moves back to her hometown and is forced to work with Zach her life is completely turned upside down. All the events that lead up to her finally telling the truth were very entertaining. I liked that this book was told through both Rennie and Zach's perspectives because it made me love the characters and connect with them more. Also, although I may be partial because I love baseball, I have to admit that I loved the incorporation of baseball into the book!!

Relationship: Rennie and Zach connection is the real thing when it comes to love. They grew up as high school sweethearts and even though they were separated for ten years their love for each other never changed, in fact it may have even gotten stronger. I loved reading about how they rekindled their relationship by falling in love with each other all over again!

Characters:
Rennie: Rennie's character annoyed me a little in the beginning of the book (because she left Zach at the alter over a problem that could have been dealt with if she had talked to him and then she lied to him too); however, as the book progressed I grew to enjoy her character. Rennie has to confront her past and the consequences of the choices she made. I liked reading about the growth of her character from a weak and dutiful girl to a strong, confidant, and independent woman.

Zach: Zach, while not without his faults, was an AMAZING character! I fell in love with his character in his first chapter. I loved reading about his growth from an immature boy to a loving and mature man. It was sweet, heart pulling, and inspiring to read about his constant love for Rennie, even with everything that happened. In all, I absolutely loved his character and it was so easy to fall in love with him as well!!

Overall: This book is a combination of misunderstandings, lies, jealousy, deception, family relationships, true love, and baseball! So, overall this book has it all!!! I had a blast reading it and couldn't put it down for one second! Perfect feel good book for the upcoming summer (especially with the third major character that I won't spoil but who completes the book!

Rating: I would give this book a 9 out of 10!!!

Review: Found in You

Book Description: Twenty three year old Camryn Singer never imagined that she would return to the place where she lost everything. To grant a dying wish, she moves back to the small Jersey beach town where she grew up, hoping to somehow find the missing pieces of her life. Determined to keep her wounds unopened and her heart guarded, she instead slams headfirst into Cole Stevens.
Sexy surfer Cole has always used the waves to numb the pain of his past. But when he runs into Camryn on the beach one day, he wants nothing more than for her to heal his scars and light the spark back in his life.
Will Camryn and Cole be ripped apart when the ghosts from their pasts come back to life, or will they discover that it’s not until you’re lost, that you can be found?

Writing: The writing was spectacular in this book!! From the very beginning the writing captivated me and brought me into Camryn's nightmares. Through Ms. Ruse's writing I was able to experience Camryn's fear, panic, joy, and love right along with her character.

Relationships:
Camryn&Cole: Camryn and Cole's relationship was instantaneous and awesome!! From the first time they meet Camryn wants nothing to do with Cole because he breaks down her walls. Cole on the other hand wants everything to do with Camryn because he's cared about her (maybe loved? lol!!!) for a long time. From that first meeting their relationship just continues to grow and blossom into something beautiful. If I had to pick a quote that would represent their relationship it would be, "It's not a one-time offer"!!!

Lila&Carter: Lila and Carter are funny, flirty, and witty together and they made the book super fun to read. I thought that their relationship was sweet and definitely enjoyed the addition of these two characters!

Characters:
Camryn: Camryn is haunted by her past and her fear of Todd taking Gavin from her or hurting him. This fear keeps Camryn from recognizing and admitting many things and from moving on with her life. However, I loved reading about her transformation throughout the book and especially about her falling for Cole!!

Cole: COLE!!!! I fell in love with his character from the very beginning! He's confidant, sweet, protective, caring, sexy, and just plain lovable!!! He doesn't take no for an answer and he has a haunting past that makes him mysterious and cautious. I loved learning about his past and how he is able to overcome it.

Gavin: Gavin is Camryn's son and he is about the cutest character ever!! I love that he is included in the book because he brought a new perspective to all of the events in the story. He has an innocent and optimistic view on everything that it just made the book that much more fun to read!

Overall: This is a sweet, romantic, and heart warming story about two people trying to deal with their past while trying to build a future at the same time! I was captivated from the start and as I was introduced to all the characters, I was enthralled by this story even more!!

Rating: I would give this book a 9 out of 10!!!

Ryan and Natalie uncover an engaging and unpredictable story while experiencing events that bring everything full circle. Two generations are linked through words and brush strokes, casting a ripple through time.
Amazon | Goodreads

Story Line: I loved the concept of the book, which is what first drew me in to give an honest review in exchange for a copy of the book. I thought that it was really interesting that the book has two story lines, one that belongs to Derrick and Jianna and one that belongs to Ryan and Natalie. However, even though there were two story lines they were wonderfully interconnected that I never once felt like the two story line were awkward, as I had once thought they would be. I also thought that the author did a fantastic job of incorporating the real life events into the story!

Relationship: I loved reading about Derrick and Jianna's relationship. I loved that they had an almost instant connection to each other and couldn't stop reading the book because I wanted to learn more about their developing relationship. Ryan and Natalie were really sweet as well! (What can I say, it's a romantic book lol!!!) It's super clear that Ryan and Natalie love each other so much that they just made my heart squeeze all through out the book!

Overall: This is a beautifully written romantic and mysterious book that will have you saying "wow" and probably crying at points throughout the book!! I especially loved the journal entries because they were romantic, thoughtful, poetic, and beautifully written. P.S- Just know that you'll forever be wanting letter like these hehehe!!!

Rating: I would give this book a 10 out of 10!!!

Review: Captivate Me (Giveaway Included!!!)

Description Provided by Goodreads:
“My mom had always told me – when you meet “the one”, you’ll know; they’ll captivate your heart the moment you lay eyes on them. I had always wondered, though, if my mom’s words of wisdom were finite – if they applied to everyone. Maybe those who had found their one great love were the lucky few, and maybe the rest of us would have to settle for less than earth-shattering.”
Seventeen-year-old Kat Walsh is a Gifted – a human with paranormal abilities. With her mom a former Angel and her dad a dream prophet, it’s always been in her genetic make-up to be extraordinary. Unfortunately for her, the world can’t handle the strange or unusual. So when she slips up and uses her powers at her high school in Ireland, the entire student body treats her like a freak – even the ones she thought were her closest friends.
Broken, but hopeful for a fresh start, she allows her parents to enroll her in a boarding school buried deep within the forests of a small Colorado town. At Midland Pines, School for the Gifted, she feels as though she can finally be herself; she makes new friends and even has the attention of the most popular guy in school – Levi. Everything feels normal again… or does it?
Not long after her arrival, weird dreams of an alluring boy whom she’s never met surface during the night, and the eerie, shadowy trees encircling their school seem to call to her. As these disturbing, yet enticing developments intensify, other bizarre occurrences happen – students and staff turn up missing, and mystery visitors leave gifts while she sleeps. With all of these other things vying for her attention, a desperate Levi has to fight even harder to keep her interest. But with the dreams of the attractive boy slowly captivating her heart, Kat has to make a choice – will she settle for ‘great’ Levi, or will she search for her elusive dream visitor, possibly stumbling across ‘amazing?’
From the author of the Alyx Rayer Chronicles, comes a refreshingly different Young Adult series with plenty of love, suspense, and a new take on the Paranormal.

Story Line: I thought that the story line was very unique and refreshing; yet, sweet at the same time. This different perspective on soul mates was really cool because it "captivates" people and pulls them toward their love. I also enjoyed that in the story there was a love triangle because it made the book stand out even more from the typical soul mate books! I also enjoyed the fact that it incorporated paranormal aspects, such as telekinesis and angels (lots of fun to read about!!!)

Relationships: I found that the struggle in relationships that Kat is faced with in the book, while supernatural, were very relatable. Kat struggles with her feelings for Levi and this mysterious person that calls to her. I found that this struggle could be similarly related in real life to people who are looking for their soul mates and wondering if the person they are with is that person.

Characters:
Kat: I enjoyed reading about Kat's character because she was sweet; yet, confused throughout the book because of all the decisions she has to make. I enjoyed the supportive family dynamic she enjoyed with her family and loved that she develops new powers throughout the book. Overall, she was just like a regular teenager with a set of problems and for this I found her to be relatable and enjoyable to read about!

Levi/Gabe: Levi and Gabe are the love interests in this book. I enjoyed the mysteriousness of Gabe at the beginning of the book because it just kept me wanting to read to find out who he is. Levi is sweet and funny through out the book, making him a delightful character! I found that I couldn't choose between the boys, which was something new for me!

Overall: This was a highly entertaining book that held me captivated (hehehe!!) It's an awesome paranormal and romantic book to read that will leave you wanting the second book!

Rating: I would give this book a 9 out of 10!
