The Prince of Wolves

Description Provided by Goodreads: Jacque Pierce was just an ordinary 17-year-old girl getting ready to start her senior year in high school in Coldspring, Texas. When a mysterious foreign exchange student from Romania moves in across the street, Jacque and her two best friends, Sally and Jen, don't realize the last two weeks of their summer are going to get a lot more interesting.

From the moment Jacque sets eyes on Fane she feels an instant connection, a pull like a moth to a flame. Little does she know that the flame she is drawn to is actually a Canis lupis, werewolf, and she just happens to be his mate; the other half of his soul.

The problem is Fane is not the only wolf in Coldspring, Texas.

Just as Fane and Jacque are getting to know each other, another wolf steps out to try and claim Jacque as his mate. Fane will now have to fight for the right to complete the mating bond, something that is his right by birth but is being denied him by a crazed Alpha. Will the love Fane has for Jacque be enough to give him the strength to defeat his enemy, will Jacque accept that she is Fane's mate and complete the bond between them?

While browsing through Amazon's free Kindle books section, I noticed this book and it seemed like a good read, so I decided to read it and here's how it went:

Story Line: I loved the story line, it had unexpected twist in it which made it non-predictable. I thought that it was going to be an ordinary story between a girl and a werewolf who fall in love and they end up living happily ever after; however this story while somewhat along those lines was not completely what I had expected. I loved the elements of surprise from this story and the humor from the various supporting characters. I loved the romance between Fane and Jacque, I love their inner conversations and the fact that they are not afraid to show their love for each other to other people. I also loved the fact that the book was both in Fane's perspective and Jacque's perspective, this gives the reader an inside look into both of the characters' minds.

Characters:
Jacque: I really enjoyed reading about Jacque's character because she's a strong character with a sense of humor and her actions and emotions say that she loves Fane. I loved that her character is faced with hardships and she overcomes them with courage.

Fane: OMG!!!! FANE!!!! I want my own Fane or Grey Werewolf!! That is all I can say for his character. He is chivalrous, gorgeous, funny, charming, generous, caring, protective, loving, and all things awesome. Basically he is the perfect guy to have as a soul mate and I fell in love with his character right along with Jacque. I loved his dedication and sweet talk to Jacque, his Luna. God, I just love his character period, he was amazing!!!

Jen/Lilly/Sally: These were about the best supporting characters I have ever read about. They were almost main characters themselves. Jen and Sally are Jacque's best friends while Lilly is Jacque's mom. I loved Lilly's character because she is strong just like Jacque. Sally and Jen were amazing and sort of reminded me of my own friends. They were super funny together and their humor brought the whole book together and made it even better. I'll even give you two samples so you'll know what I'm talking about:

"Alright then, I guess that’s settled,” Lilly said, then she turned to Fane, “Lay a paw on my little girl and you will be a three legged Lassie, got it?”
Fane winced and then asked, “You both do realize I’m a wolf not a dog right?"

"When you say gorgeous,” Jen started, “are we talking Brad Pitt boyish good looks, or Johnny Depp make ya want to slap somebody?”
“No, we’re talking Brad and Johnny need to bow down and recognize” Jacque answered.

Overall: This book exceeded my expectations by a lot, I never expected to enjoy and love this book so much. I can't wait to get the next book in the series, Blood Rights. I definitely recommend this book, it's an excellent read and while never leave your bored.

Rating: I would rate this book a 10.
